Beautiful hand-carved duck made from ipe or ironwood. Because of its density and hardness, ironwood, as the name implies, dulls tools extremely quickly so kudos to the carver because they must have had to resharpen their tools so many times with the extensive carving of the head, breast and back. It stands in wonderful contrast to the silky smoothness of the highly polished body.
Very heavy. Approx 7 1/2" long and approx 5 1/2" high
