The Minyades were three sisters in Greek mythology, daughters of Minas. Their names were Alcathoe, Leucippe and Arsippe.
When the cult of the god Dionysis started spreading in Greece, all followers would get drunk and revel in the mountains and forests. However, the Minyads did not follow these practices, but instead continued their quiet lives at home. Dionysis got furious at this disregard of his ways, and transformed the three sisters into bats.
This seems patently unfair.
Bats make great subject for beautiful necklaces though, so that's something.
Made from stones found on the shore of Lake Superior and Lake Michigan, these necklaces will bring you close to home and our big beautiful Great Lakes. This one is a natural heart shape and will sit close to your heart in a few ways.
